Kunsthaus Zug The Kunsthaus takes care of what is probably the most comprehensive collection of Viennese Modernism outside Austria. Another important part of the Collection is represented by works by Swiss surrealists as well as Swiss Fantastic Realism. Project: Collection is the term designating long-term cooperations with artists of different nationalities. The concept emerged from a critical investigation of the problems associated with collecting contemporary art (transitoriness, exploding production, shortage of space). |

Old Town Zürich Specially off the main tracks you can discover a lot in Zurich’s old town. Small alleys, nice little shops, bars and squares with figure-decorated fountains make it worthwhile to go for a stroll. At the righthand side of the Limmat, one of the oldest parts of Zurich, the “Schipfe” with an alley directly at the shore of the river, is interesting. |

Kunsthaus Zürich The Kunsthaus hosts a large collection of works of art from the old flemish masters to contemporary artists. But also the exhibitions are worth seeing. To see one of the highlights of the collection, you don’t even have to enter the building: Rodin’s „Door to hell“ is outside, next to the entrance. |

KKL – Lucerne Festival 2009 The Culture and Convention Centre of Lucerne (KKL) has been finished in the year 2000. Through water channels and a protruding roof the architect Jean Nouvel connected the building with the lake. It really is an architectural sight. The heart of the KKL is,the concert hall with its great – and even adjustable – acoustics. One of the musical highlights of the year 2009 is the “Lucerne Festival 2009” (12th August 2009 – 19th September 2009) under the direction of conductor Claudio Abbado. |

Lake of Lucerne The branches of the lake form a beautiful landscape, surrounded by mountains. A walk along its shores leads to important sites of Swiss history and especially sites of the myth of Swiss history like the Rütli, where at the year of 1291 the three Swiss founding fathers are supposed to have sworn unity for the sake of freedom. www.weg-der-schweiz.ch
